About the Journal

Aims & scope;

International Journal of Circular Economy: Policy and Practice is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to advancing knowledge on the governance, policy design, and real- world implementation of circular economy principles across sectors and scales.

The journal aims to bridge the gap between theoretical research, policy-making, and practice by publishing high-quality interdisciplinary research that examines how circular economy strategies are formulated, governed, implemented, and evaluated at local, national, regional, and global levels. The journal particularly welcomes contributions that:

Analyse public policies, regulatory frameworks, and governance models supporting circular economy transitions;

Examine policy instruments, institutional arrangements, and stakeholder coordination mechanisms;

Evaluate real-world applications, case studies, and best practices in industry, cities, regions, and public institutions;

Assess economic, social, and environmental impacts of circular economy interventions using robust methodologies;

Explore the role of business models, innovation systems, and public–private partnerships in operationalising circular economy;

Provide comparative, cross-country, and cross-sectoral analyses to support evidence-based policy learning.

The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, policy analyses, and practice-oriented case studies. It explicitly encourages interdisciplinary approaches combining economics, public policy, environmental sciences, engineering, urban studies, and management. By focusing on policy relevance and implementation outcomes, the journal seeks to support decision-makers, practitioners, and researchers working toward an inclusive, resilient, and circular economic system.
